Detlev Ganten received his M.D. degree from the University of Tübingen, Germany and his Ph.D. degree from the McGill University, Montreal, Canada. Afterwards, he was a Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Heidelberg, Chair of Clinical Pharmacology at the Charité and the founding Director of the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) Berlin-Buch. Currently, he is the Chairman of the Board, Charité Foundation, Berlin. As Founder and President World Health Summit, his goal is to to bring all nations together to find better ways to improve global healthcare. His major research interest is in clinical pharmacology, especially to understand the causes of high blood pressure, and prevention and treatment of hypertension.
